Add and remove domains

Once you have purchased a domain from a domain registrar, follow the steps below while logged into your domain provider. The settings for each domain provider may vary, you can refer to registrar-specific guides for more detailed instructions.

Add a domain

  1. From the Popup admin, go to Settings > Domains.
  2. Click on Connect a domain.
  3. Enter the domain you would like to connect (eg. shop.example.com or www.example.com or example.com) Do not include http or https. You can remove www.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Follow the steps provided in the admin.

It may take up to 48 hours for the new DNS settings to propagate and connect your domain to your Popup account successfully.

Connect a domain to a Popup Store

Each Popup Store can be connected to one domain. Once your domain has successfully been connected to your Popup account, connect it to a Popup Store.

Steps

  1. From the Popup admin, select a Popup Store.
  2. Navigate to Preferences > General.
  3. From the Domain section, select your new domain from the drop-down. 
  4. Click Save.

You can add this domain to an Entry Point

Using subdomains

You can also add subdomains. Subdomains are an extension of your domain that contains a prefix like 'www' or 'shop', this would appear as shop.example.com or www.example.com.

Subdomains are a great way to create different branded landing pages or customer Journeys all with the same root domain you purchased. You can create multiple subdomains on your domain from your domain provider settings.

Remove a domain

Steps

  1. From the Popup admin, go to Settings > Domains.
  2. Select a domain to remove.
  3. Click Delete domain.
